Last weekend Thomas' parents surprised the girls and came out for a visit.
They were kind and brave enough to drive 16 hours round trip to be here for about 23 hours.
They are one hip, tough, couple.
Thats for sure.
We took them to the WORLD FAMOUS Vincents,
in Forrest Hills, PA.
What? You haven't heard of it? You obviously know nothing about world famous pizza then.
Notice on the marquee it says "Vincent you will be missed." I think Vincent ate too many Vinnie pies because each one probably weighs a few pounds.
We were all rolling out of there that evening.
We were all rolling out of there that evening.
Thomas' mom also surprised us with 6 homegrown pumpkins out of her garden.
What a treat! We had them nicely displayed out on our patio banister until they started "mysteriously" falling off, one was even "rolled" down the stairs into oncoming traffic and narrowly missed a car.
Hmmm terrible two's, ever heard of them?
It was so nice to have them here on Sunday and to be able to enjoy at least one session of General Conference with them. To be honest I still have rough days here in the Pitts, and having family here allowed me to feel a bit more like this is our home and it was a joy to share it with them.
On another note, President Monson spoke on being grateful, and I realized then and there what an ungrateful creature I am. I am so lucky to be here in Pittsburgh and to be experiencing something new, meeting new people and growing as a person. I think that it is probably something I really needed. I think at times maybe we all become a bit too comfortable and need a little push forward. So while its not easy for me, I am grateful for this experience and I am truly grateful for the knowledge I have that our Heavenly Father loves me, and is directing my life.

A few things concerning this post:
1. Yeah for Thomas's parents for taking care of my good friends.
2. Is that a new couch? I like it!
3. Does Thomas have gorilla feet?
Good for you for seeing the bright side of things. On the other hand, sometimes it's nice to wallow. :) how nice of them to come out and visit, even for such a short time. Family is the greatest.
Aaaaah! Those toe sock things are creeeepy! I am going to have nightmares most likely...
I am glad you had some family for a visit. By the time we come on our long-planned visit, you will have many, many wonderful things to show us, right? Like yummy pizza, cool parks, photo-worthy places and so on and so on. So excited...
And that's hysterical about the rolling pumpkins. Kids. Sheesh.
Hang in there. Can't wait to see what wonderful new attributes you will gain from your awesome Pitts adventure!
And that's all. Good night.
