Christmas Cheer

To end the year right, we invited some of our friends over for a White Elephant Exchange.
Oh how I love a good party.
I fought my laziness and decorated the house up for Christmas, and in the end was so glad I did.
I pulled my Christmas tree up from the basement all by myself started connecting it, allowing my arms to get scratched and scuffed, tier by tier, I finally got the last tier and of course, my tree was too tall, blah! That's how things roll for me though, after fighting back my urge to throw the tree down the stairs, I overcame it and "jimmy rigged" my star on top and bent the branches upwards, and you know what, no one even knew. Whew!

I saw these really cute wreaths on ETSY made with felt and yarn and fell in love. So I made one of my own.  It was fun to figure it out, but boy wrapping the yarn round and round a styrofoam wreath takes some time.  Thomas thought I was going nuts, especially when he saw a few more spring up here and there. Wish the picture did it justice, but it doesn't even come close.

I went a little overboard with the Christmas balls this year...but it added the extra affect I wanted. I will now avoid a dirty joke that has come into my mind.

I had to take a picture of my fireplace. I've been having a hard time with this huge mirror in our front room, it screamed 70's to me, so I was so pleased when I put up my vinyl tree that I had in my AZ house.  It makes the room so much cozier.

Anyhow it was a delightful evening of eating, good food, friends and lots of laughing.
But of course what matters most....the PRESENTS!
Below are a few of my fave's.

A Bridesmaids dress...man so classy, if only I was lucky enough to have picked that beauty up.
I could wear it to church and be the belle of the 7th ward.

A hunk of a hunk of a burning love, oh my! An Elvis Presley cookbook.
Priceless!

HANDERPANTS!
(I may have picked up those babies in a fun boutique in Chicago over Thanksgiving)

Just a few of the totally practical uses for handerpants.
This is by far the most self deserving gift recipient. You may or may not recognize this glamorous nightgown from my Halloween costume...Thomas despised it! He was worried I would start wearing it around the house just out of convenience. So being the good wife that I am I wrapped it up to give away, and of all people to pick it out, it just had to be him!
Since I still have it I have made it a point to wear it now, because obviously it's just meant to be!

A trio of classy cologne was given away as well, upon futher inspection we were quite baffled with the warning to "Avoid contact with surfaces."

Gotta love the BUMP-IT....just look at all of that classy VOLUME in her hair.

So there were a lot of fun other ones, but the winner for the night...the one that caused a ton of tear inducing laughter, the one that was "stolen" most often, which in turn makes it of course the most inappropriate....

TA-DA!
Sorry for the blurry pic, but I had to snap a quick one before it got snatched away.
Any ideas as to what this humm-dinger of a gift is?
I'll give you a hint...it squeaks!

And to end the night on a perfect note....our friends Chad and Joan gave us quite the performance.
Have a little peak into our night if you'd like.

No, really glad you had a fun night! And I love the handerpants...but I don't want to know what the winning present was.

And no I didn't play the French horn. Wanted to, but took Music appreciation instead.

Your house looks great...love the christmas balls. And I do love those cute wreaths. The picture doesn't do it justice, but it was the first thing I noticed when I walked in Erika's house...loved it. My bday being the day after hers, I was hoping for one in the mail too, it must have gotten lost! Totally kidding...(not about how cute it was) I really miss you, now more than ever. I'm not liking that your phone is broken... glad you had a good holiday! Happy New Year!
