I made it in the 115 degree heat, which I didn't mind too much, although we have spent a good amount of time in the house. Amy was one of the first friends I met here in Arizona when we moved from Colorado in 2001. Alli was 18 months and her little boy was just under 1. I was explaining to Ainsley and her 8 year old daughter Paige that I have known Amy longer than I have known them and her mom has known me longer than she's known Paige. Boy was this mind boggling to them. :) Theres never enough to be said about a friend that you've traveled through life with, heart aches and joys, riches and poors, trip to Hawaii (probably my favorite trip ever), births, sicknesses, all sorts of insane mommy stuff. I was nearly in tears one night when I was so exhausted and had zero strength to man the fight of getting Rainier to bed and she came into my room, put him in jammies, and read him a few books. It was exactly what I needed. Its one of those friendships where you feel comfortable enough around each other that you can scrub all the nasty calluses off your feet and laugh and not worry about having anything to say, just enjoying one anothers company. I was in heaven there and it was the perfect week to be there.
Paige and Ainsley
Thomas was able to fly in from NY for the 4th of July, boy was it nice to have him back, but a bit of a shock all the same. :) We decided 3 weeks was way too long to wait to see each other and never did it again. But we were glad to celebrate the 4th, watch some fireworks, eat some food and enjoy the company of our best friends the Mikos' together.
While staying in Arizona we were able to reconnect with so many other great friends, while I had a hard time pulling away from Erika and Amy when I did I was so glad I did and enjoyed catching up with those great friends we will always consider family.
