Travelogue 3:2010

Captains Log: 156.932.663
Spring Break 2010
Location:
Rocky Point, Mexico

Day 1: 0500 hrs
Knock on the door. Sister in law Tamzen and Family arrive after an all night drive from Colorado. Tuck them safely into bed for a few short hours of shut-eye. All kids awaken to ruin wishful shut-eye.

1000 hrs

Leave for Rocky Point Mexico. Weekends worth of food, beach supplies and water packed also 7 anxious kids.
1430 hrs

Arrive in Mexico, with no trouble. Eat a quick lunch on 8th floor patio and enjoy the views.

1530 hrs
Change into swimsuits and head to the beach for a few hours of joy in the solar flare.

Day 2: 0800 hrs
After a restful night sleep, crew is up and ready for a day on the beach.

0900hrs
Crew gaits to the beach to hunt for shells and critters while the tide is low.


0910hrs
Cadet Ainsley hard at work.


0915hrs
Claire and Rain displaying found specimen.


0917hrs
Rainier tests out stride on the cool sand.


0930hrs
The collective morning crew in action.

0945hrs
Cadet cousins, Alli and Payton compare finds.


1000hrs
Young Cadet Rainier and Captain venture towards the unknown world.

1015hrs
First Captain and Cadet Rainier settle into life on condo patio, sharing morsels of orange.

1002hrs
Cadet Payton displays a certain species of crab found on beach.


1005hrs
Gearhart crew members sort through the morning acquisition. Ready to catalog for research.

1100hrs
Local vendors parade and harass most of the excursion. However memorable souvenirs were purchased and appreciated.

1130hrs
First Captain and Cadet son soak up some light rays.

1230hrs
Cadet Allison exhibits a pleasure for the beach.

1232 hrs
Cadet Claire appears to have the same excitement as older sister.


1233hrs
Cadet Ainsley seems to concur with her fellow cadets.

1235hrs
Yes, they are all unanimous, the beach seems to do well by them.


1245hrs
Young Cadet Rainier has stated his opinion as well. Captain translates that "The sand tastes good and feels even better when head is shoved in it."

1800hrs
All meet in common grounds kitchen for dinner.


1803hrs
Local nutrition was found (shrimp) and seared for completion.


1900 hrs
The night time composition of the hotel was agreeable.

1902hrs
So much so that a twilight swim was required by the whole crew.

Day 3:
Cadets seem to prosper well amongst each other.

1200hrs
Collective crew gathered for excursion.

1230hrs
Said excursions were taken on "Banana Boat" and later on wave runners.

1345hrs
Cadet Rainier took akin to local flying animasl and found much gratification in his quest to capture them.


1500hrs
Tempest of air made kite flying possible with father and daughter.


1515hrs
Also with cousins alike.


1600hrs
First Captain Thomas and Cadet Rainier call it a day.

Day 4:
1200hrs
After all belongings were put in store, the crew head downtown for an experience of its own.

1205hrs
The journey begins.


1215hrs
Geographical seafood is bountiful and available for purchase.

1330hrs
After further inspection the downtown area is densely populated, with bargains to be acquired on junk, and rather despicable items for sale. While the experience was educational, the Captain has decided that her young crew probably should not have accompanied the Captains to said destination.
Captains Final Thoughts:
This excursion is one of memorable heights. The climate was beautiful and the additional crew made the experience all the more aggreeable. The crew has all complied that they would approve of traveling to Rocky Point, Mexico in the future. Departure time will be scheduled to a more agreeable time to avoid the 4 hour congested wait at the border next time.

The shrimp looks yummmmmy, the water fabulous and the cadets look occupied. Perfect.

My mission: show this successful mission to my Captain, in hopes that we can join in on the next expedition!! Looks like a success, (i won't mention the 4 hrs at the border when discussing it with my captain..:)

What a trip. No capsizing that is always good news. Looks like a grand time was had by all. Did you allow the masked man in your kitchen? How was the water? Glad you are back safe!!!!

Looks like it was a really fun trip! Not only do you get to have super winter/spring weather in Phoenix but you're close to a place like this for spring break. Snow/wind here today. Sometimes life isn't fair.
