Great beginnings.

Well we're only a few weeks into 2010 and, if I do say so myself, we are off to a fabulous start.

Alli worked long and hard last quarter to get on the honor roll.

Which was no small feat, her 4th grade teacher Mrs. Voss, is not an easy grader. Her Dad and I are very proud of her for setting a goal and reaching it.

I started off my new year with a little surgery and quite a significant change. I was able to throw away every single piece of eye paraphernalia I had after getting Lasik last week. What an amazing procedure! I was able to see 20/20 the very next day! After wearing glasses and contacts for close to 15 years I am SO glad to be rid of them.

But I must say that my husband might have had the best start to his year yet.

This stud participated in his first marathon and 'rocked' the whole way through.

I am so impressed by his determination and dedication to his goal. If there is one thing about Thomas, whenever he sets his mind on doing something, he will get it done no matter what. I was a bit worried about him running the marathon since lately he hasn't been able to train as much as he wanted to. Yet he was still focused, determined, and woke up at 4am and drove himself to the race....ran it....and drove himself home.

The girls and I were so excited and proud of him we decided we needed to decorate the house a bit and put up a banner to show our enthusiasm since we wouldn't be there when he got home.

We also chose to throw a party in honor of his great accomplishment, complete with a lighted fort out on the patio (which the girls dubbed Club Light, so chic).

As a wife, I look at this man that I am growing old with, (quite literally, I found patches of grey on my head a few months ago) and am amazed that as time goes by we become more of a well oiled machine, that as we both work on goals alone and goals together, our lives are bettered by the goals we accomplish. My husband has always been an example to me in the fact that he really doesn't believe in the word can't. No matter how cliche that might sound, he will be the first to prove you (meaning usually me) wrong.

Thanks for always being a great inspiration to me.

I'm so proud of you Tommy!

WOW. Congratulations Thomas! I am seriously SERIOUSLY impressed. Way to go!

And the lasik? I just want to die every time I hear of somebody else getting this when I still haven't. I'm dying for it.

And congrats to sweet Alli, that's amazing!
