Through New Eyes

It dawned on me the other day, that we now have a walking, semi-interested toddler on our hands, and I thought it would be fun to see what this little guy thought of some local habitat. So for FHE we headed down to a little community duck pond (pond is a word I will use loosely since it really is a containment of reclaimed water, blah with strict signage warning against swimming/drinking/bathing in said water) Not to worry we did obey the signage, all of it except for guidance to restrain from feeding the local fowls....ooooppps.

We were greeted by this lovely gosling family upon arrival and all of us girly girls squealed with joy.

I was quite chipper to be out and about in the beautiful weather and Rainier felt the same way I think.

Yes, I am quite sure of it.

The girls had a blast feeding the geese and ducks and were even a little freaked out by the geese who constantly hissed at them for more food, and perhaps a warning to stay away from their young.

Whenever we go, our favorite is always the cesspool of a pond...the reason being:

no not because you can eat the left over stale carbs, mostly because....
when you throw those stale carbs into the water....
MONSTROUS quoi appear and fight, and jump, and squirm to receive our delicacy. It is quite entertaining for sure. Not so entertaining is being splashed by the local "poo" water as my children have so lovingly labeled it.

A quick run around the park,

a walk around with dad,

all followed by a climb in this awesome tree, allowing a little photo-op for the girls
(Rainier was not happy to be in the tree).

One...
Two...

Three...
and our evening ended with a run to the local bookstore where the girls batted their eyelashes and pouted their puppy dog eyes and convinced their daddy to buy them a book.

It was quite a beautiful night.

It looks awesome! In fact, I'm pretty sure I've been there before, when I was a kid.

Is that the same "pond" we went to six years ago when we were there visiting you? We have lots of pics and they look very similar.
