So we're close to finishing our second month here in the Pitts and by now I'm feeling more comfortable in the City of Bridges. I'm not getting completely lost every time I go out which is good because I'm not cussing as much either (I kid, I kid). I now know my way to church and back, a few essential stores, and have established a routine at the gym etc. It's nice to be able to have some sort of schedule to be attached to.
Anyhow I am now establishing bits and pieces of my "favorites" here and one of them has to be this fruit stand. I love the beautifully displayed fruit, the bright colors and the cute little baskets, unfortunately you don't to take those home with you. It is quite a quaint little place, although I must admit I'm not sure what that sign about nose squeezing has to do with the fruit...maybe don't squeeze the fruit?
One of the best things about this fruit stand; it's on the way to my old regular favorite, Ross, whew! Thank goodness for that. Anything I can associate with my old life brings me peace, comfort and joy.
Anyhow I was thrilled when I pulled up last week and saw these huge crates of all sorts of gourds and squash and even indian corn!
You know what that means? Fall! I've been feeling it in the air lately. How strange is that? I can actually feel the change. We're putting on our light sweaters at night and in the mornings, there is a slight breeze running through and yes the leaves are slowly but surely changing. I can't wait for that. To think we will have seasons here. Now thats something to be happy about.

i love fruit stands like that. my friend emilie who lives in mt. joy, PA says the #3 apples (specially grown in PA only) are the most delicious apples she's ever had. be on the lookout!
I would think those pumpkins and gourds would give you the serious heebie and jeebies with all of their texture. But I do enjoy a good fruit stand. Jealous for sure.
