To Ainsley: A letter from your mother.

Dear Ainsley,

You are a beautiful little girl. Your hair is a beautiful brown with eyes that sparkle to match. Your smile will light up a room and your cute giggle (you giggle more than laugh) fills it through. I love your round cheeks and your beautiful lips, you are so adorable! (Just so you know I am a bit biased I think all my girls are beautiful.)

For a long time you were my little baby. I enjoyed that time with you so much, we used to run from store to store and you'd be so excited that I would get you a little toy or treat, although after awhile you started expecting it. I guess you got pretty spoiled being the only one home with me for a full year. Dad used to say we were attached at the hip and couldn't be happy without each other. Some days I miss you when you're at school, but I am glad I have Rainier home with me. You still come into my room each morning and snuggle with me, I'm so glad you haven't out grown that, I love to snuggle with you each morning.

When I found out I was pregnant with you I was shocked and didn't know what we were going to do. Claire was only four months old and Dad's work was closing. I was so scared and couldn't imagine how I was going to be able to handle two babies and a three year old too. I went through the whole pregnancy in a state of stress but the moment you were put into my arms I had an instant wave of gratitude that our Heavenly Father would send me you. I loved you so much in that moment and felt so guilty for even thinking that I wouldn't be able to handle you. You have brought us so much joy from that day on.

Ainsley you are such a good girl. You like to please people. You are pretty obedient and I appreciate that so much. It's so nice when I ask you to do something and you do it willingly. You also are very sensitive and you definitely do not like to be in trouble, it bothers you so much, and it makes me sad to see your lip curl under when you cry because your feelings are hurt.

You are quite a humorous little girl. You always have some funny remark to say. The other day you came home from your friends house and opened the front door and in your silliest voice bellowed "I'm hoooooommmmme!" My friend and I just laughed and laughed. You love to play and be busy, you love school and you love your primary class you truly are a happy little girl.

Right as I was in the middle of writing this letter the school called for the second time today and said you're still not feeling well, your ear hurts and you have a headache. I am so happy I was able to go to the school right away and pick you up. I met you in the hallway and your face lit up and your soft little hand grabbed mine, that's such a nice comfort, you still love to hold my hand when we go out, I wonder when you'll grow out of that? I hope not too soon.

I love you Ainsley, you are a very special little girl.

Love,
Mom

She is such a pretty girl. What a sweet post! I remember riding in your car while you took me to the airport and saying, "I think I'm pregnant." And you had this tiny baby at home and I thought, "What?!" But you handled it like a champ. You're a great mother, and your girls are lucky to have you!
