A few weeks ago Alli brought home a booklet of poems she had written in her 3rd grade class. On the inside she dedicated the book like this:
Too funny, sure wish I taught her to believe in herself.
Anyways I read through these poems and was thoroughly impressed with the witt that were in some of them. I've copied a few for the enjoyment of her posterity.
Teachers
Teachers say to do your best and always come to school.
So I did exactly what she said.
I came to school on Saturday like she said but no teacher was there.
I'm beginning to think I don't have to be here every day,
Zoo
The zoo thinks it has everything like, tigers, monkeys, and giraffes.
But one thing they don't have is a picky little sister,
the rarest creature of all!
Lines
The teacher says they go on forever as she believes.
But I followed the line on my paper and yet I'm still in my seat!
Also this week Alli had to read a biography and do an oral report. She has been obsessed with the Titanic this year, telling me all sorts of grim facts about it, and so I told her about the Unsinkable Molly Brown and she was able to find a book on her.
So we got her all dressed up for the part, isn't she the spitting image of Molly Brown? I was so proud of her she learned her part and practiced saying funny words like 'woo-wee' and 'hi all' and said it in her best Southern Belle accent she could muster up.
Anyways here is a little clip of her impersonation, sorry its sideways.

and "coloradoooooooooooooo my home!" awesome.
I love her poems, they totally crack me up! Sharp as a tack, that girl! I'm still giggling. And loved her costume and the video! Now I need to see "The Unsinkable Molly Brown".
She is so creative. I love the way she expresses herself and places her acknowledgements where they belong. A great teacher and good friends.
